Here are five child-friendly activities to get you started:
1. Visit the South Downs Planetarium and Science Centre
The beauty of the sky at night will come alive during the immersive shows in the centre’s planetarium dome. Talks are delivered by experts in the field of astronomy and are sure to spark the imaginations of budding astronomers.
2. Discover Roman history at the Novium
Built on the remains of a Roman Bathhouse, the Novium is the place to visit to learn more about Chichester’s Roman past. As well as viewing the archaeological site and the monumental Bosham Head sculpture, the kids will enjoy trying on helmets, playing with magnet mosaics or joining in with the free drop-in craft activities available at weekends and during holidays.
3. Take a trip to Little Street
Imagine a high street complete with a cafe, supermarket, medical centre, construction site and even a theatre. Now picture the look on your children’s faces when they find out it’s child-sized! Imaginative and educational play is at the heart of this attraction and the prop-filled rooms will fill future doctors, farmers, actors, builders (and more) with joy.
4. Flip Out!
If your kids are already bouncing off the walls, why not let them do it for real? A free-jumping session at Flip Out trampoline park will burn off plenty of excess energy as they explore the wall-to-wall trampolines, drop slide and foam pits. There’s also a cafe to help recharge their batteries afterwards.
5. Have a Jungle Paradise Adventure
A jungle paradise may not be the first thing you think of when you think of Chichester, but that’s exactly what’s on offer as you putt your way through 18 holes at Jungle Paradise Adventure Golf. The course weaves its way through caves and under waterfalls – just keep an eye out for the sneaky gorilla, the hidden tiger and especially the spraying elephant! Round everything off with lunch in the Jungle Java Cafe.
