3 places to visit in South Downs with your kids

When deciding where to go on vacation, it can be a little tricky if you have children. Choosing to visit South Downs is undoubtedly a great decision because there is a lot in the region for children to enjoy, as you will discover below…

Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust – Situated in Arundel, this is the perfect family day out. Your children will love exploring the 26 acres of fantastic woodland and wildlife. You and your kids will be able to feed the array of different species of birds. There is also a ‘Pond Explorer’ section. If you don’t mind your child getting wet then they will undoubtedly love the chance to explore the small area of water and find little aquatic creatures to assess. And if this wasn’t enough, there are also boat safaris. They will get to witness snakes and migrant birds as they travel deep into the reed beds. And there is no doubt that all of this exploring is bound to be exhausting. Thankfully, there is a lovely cafe for you to grab a quick bite to eat as well.

Goodwood Racecourse – Goodwood Racecourse is one of the best in the country. It plays host to 14 different race meets throughout the year, so it is certainly worth seeing if your trip coincides with one of these. The main meeting is the Qatar Goodwood Festival, which takes place 30th July – 3rd August. The facilities are great here too, with a number of different restaurants to choose from. You can also head to the Goodwood Motor Circuit, which isn’t too far away.

Seven Sisters Country Park – This is a breathtaking spot to behold. You will get to witness a simply stunning river valley and lots of beautiful grasslands. Nevertheless, most people know that children are not the biggest fans of sightseeing. But you need not worry about this, as there are lots of activities to enjoy. You can go canoeing or cycling at Seven Sisters Country Park, providing your children with some fun whilst you also get to take in the fantastic surroundings at the same time.
